1) What is an Education Business Partnership?

An Education Business Partnership is a not for profit organisation that brokers relationships between schools and businesses to deliver work related learning and employer engagement for students aged 14-19.

2) What do they do?

Education Business Partnerships offer a range of opportunities such as work experience, enterprise activities and work related learning to support students through their school career and beyond.

3) How many are there?

There are 126 Education Business Partnerships across England, Wales and Northern Ireland.

4) How many are there in Berkshire?

There are three Education Business Partnerships in Berkshire:

  • East Berkshire EBP look after Slough, Windsor, Maidenhead, Bracknell and Ascot.


  • Central Berkshire EBP look after Reading and Wokingham.


  • West Berkshire EBP look after Newbury, Thatcham, Theale, Calcot and Hungerford.

    5) Are they the same? Do they offer the same service?

    Although they are all Education Business Partnerships and have common goals and objectives, their core activities vary to reflect local needs and circumstances. The common goals all Education Business Partnerships share are;

  • Preparing young people for the world of work in particular and adult life in general,


  • Raising teacher awareness of the world of work and the work-related curriculum,


  • To contribute to the raising of standard achievement via work-related contents,


  • To support the business community in its need to create a world class competitive workforce for the future,


  • To promote the benefit of lifelong learning.

    6) How can I get involved?

    It is easy to get involved with a range of activities offered by Central Berkshire EBP from work experience to facilitating on an Enterprise event. If you would like more information, please send us your details through the 'Contact Us' page.
