Before the Placement
On completion of the visit, the placement details will be sent to the ‘matched’ pupil, who will then phone to introduce themselves with a view to arranging an informal interview if required. The interview/phone call will enable the pupil to become familiar with the person they are to report to on the first day. You will also be able to discuss starting times and dress code etc. with the pupil.

During the Placement
A teacher from the school will either phone or visit you during the week, to check if everything is going to plan for both yourself and the pupil. Any issues you may have can be discussed at this time, or indeed anytime by phoning either the relevant co-ordinator at the school, or ourselves.
The student should arrive with a work experience diary, or coursework, which you can use as a guide to what the student should achieve during the placement. Students also have to identify and record in their diary the Key Skills that are used in the work place.
